My G3 finally went to the great beyond after 3 years of steadfast service. The problem, I think ,had something to do with the harddrive. Didnt spend too much time worrying about since, I was already turning my attention to getting a newer model anyway: technology has progressed so that most of my programs are un-updatable on a G3.
However, since I think the computer is salvageable, Im gonna see about selling it for parts, or donating it to a school.
Luckily, I was able to find a used G4 on Ebay. Cross your fingers that it serves me as well as is predecessor did. I expect it will serve me better

What’s a G3, G4? Did you bid for it or buy it?
Remember the thing about the steady income; but how did I miss the pilot stuff? Its dated March 18th. Kept seeing the Happy New Year title; then the telephone went out and took the computer with it. And planting season began. And other stuff. Result: my e-mail got so backed up that I’m still cleaning up the boxes.
I bought it. I was watching bids for a while, and lost a couple auctions. On this one, the starting bid was only about $10 less than the Buy It Now Price, so I decided to go ahead and get it.
I was going to drive down and pick it p, but I was called into work. Fortunately, I was saved the HORROR of another week without a computer – my job sent me home with the one I use at work so I can finish what I was working on. So. iuntil I get my G4, I will have to do with this nice, pretty G5 laptop.
Oh, sorry – G3, G4, G4 – those are the designations Apple has been giving its computers as they progress. G5 is the latest version, so new that they havent come out with a g5 version of all their models.
Basically, instead of being five years behind the current technoology, Im now only 2 (I hope)
